What are student council minutes?
Student council minutes are the minutes, or notes, of student council meetings, held once per week during 4th period. Here, we listen to event proposals from clubs and other programs on campus and determine whether they should be held or not. Student council also makes important club related decisions such as approving club grants, the creation of new clubs, and deactivation of discontinued ones. Meetings are run following basic parliamentary procedure principles, where one person must make a motion, another must second the motion, and a majority of the body must agree for the motion to pass (or two-thirds in special cases). Student council meetings minutes are recorded by the ASB secretary, and detail the people involved, reports from each committee, and the decisions made.
